MPC 60ii firmware v3.0

Aloha y'all, long time lurker first time poster.

I've owned a 2kxl for a few years now and am looking at up/downgrading to a 60ii. It's got firmware 3.03 and I can't seem to find too much information about that version online. If anyone can point me to the light that'd be ill.

For instance:
Is 3.0* a different eprom from 2.14? Can 3.0* be upgraded via floppy to 3.1*?

Maybe to load any operating system (2.12, 2.14, 3...) for MPC60 via floppy drive (ZIP drive)?

Yes the 3.0* is a whole new eprom set and can NOT be upgraded from a floppy. Only the MPC3000 can load new OS into RAM NOT! EPROM, turn of the power and you are back to where you began.

If my mind don't betray me.. 2.12 was the last Akai OS for the MPC60.
Roger Linn made 3.xx for the Marion SCSI upgrade card, and after that he back ported the MPC3000 OS 3.11 to MPC60 3.10.
