need some help for setting up my equipment

With all my respect, hello fellas. I need some advices. Some of my questions might be stupid so i want to excuse for it.
I am big fen of 90s sound, classic sound.
I just get mpc 2000 and S950 - my dream came true! I tried to read as much information before i ask here. I need advice from you fellas about how to set up them together.
So, I set up my turntable mixer MASTER OUT to S950 LINE input at the front - is this the right way to record samples in S950?
MPC is connected to S950 by midi - to trigger the samples - this is ok
Next one is S950 sound out- I connect MIX OUT from the back to the LINE IN of one of channels of Soundcraft EPM6 .
Then the main out of mixer to amplifier for speakers.

Is this correct way ? I will take any advice! I am new to all this stuff and i really want not to lose any tricks.

Another question is what is the best way to record on PC with this setup. What do you think ?

I suggest you get an audio interface for the computer... maybe a motu 828, or ultralite... or a presonus.. or something like that. get one with at least 8 inputs (you want 8 inputs that you can plug 1/4" jacks into...)

that way later on the s950 you can run each output into those inputs.

Agreed with Mister. If you're trying to record to your computer, there are a few different ways of doing that but an audio interface will be the most direct route.

In your current position I would keep it simple.
Sample Source >> REC inputs on S950 >> stereo out >> REC in on MPC

Not 100% sure if the 2000 can pass audio from the inputs directly to the stereo outputs like the MPC 1000/2500 (and I'm sure others) can. That way everything you're doing can be more or less controlled straight from the 2000 (sequencing, volume, etc).

Are you combining the L & R channels using a Y cable/adapter?

Personally I use the "Input Thru" function of the MPC2500 (JJOS-XL). This method allows me to input only the L, R or combine L+R (MONO) on the MPC and send the incoming signal throughout any one of the 8 balanced (TRS) mixouts and into the S950 MONO unbalanced (TS) line input. I made myself a custom cable (assembly 9B in the last link I gave you) for that connection.

This method also gives the possibility to use the MPC filters on the incoming signal before it's being sent thru.

BTW, you can do the same thing with your Soundcraft EPM6. Connect your MPC L & R outputs to channel 1 and 2 (for instance) of your mixer, pan both full left and send the left Main to the S950.
