anyone heard of the Korg Lambda? I did the other day.
it has like 3 **** oscillators, envelopes, filters PER KEY.

Nice specs on the Lambda. Sounds good too. But I like the sound of the Roland a lot more. It sounds a lot meatier than the Korg. I gotta hear more audio from both machines. Both of them really sound awesome.

Isn't the Lambda, like most stringers, using the divide down principle regarding polyphony and that all notes share one filter and envelope? I.e. it's not in any way to compare to a conventional mono- or polyphonic synth regarding voices, not saying that's something to the stringers disadvantage, though.

Regarding the Lambda, I actually have one on loan from a friend who had it standing in his closet for years and years. In my taste it's to thick in tone to be really funny, it can be tweaked to some interesting timbres by just playing the chorus effect and a hollowed harpsichord-sound added as percy attack. Now it just stands resting against a bookshelf in my bedroom.
Funnier was the Roland RS09 I borrowed at the same time, it's defect rendering the string part pretty unusable as it won't go through the ensemble effect and on it's own it sounds rather horrible. However the organ part sounds superb with or without ensemble applied. It has no resonant filter or other bling, just simple and pure tone.
My own stringer is also the one I prefer, a soviet clone of the Crumar Multiman, called TOM 1501. A discrete black thing sounding as dark as it looks. It's got a tacky keyboard, the sliders are jamming and sometimes it just don't want to behave as expected upon startup, but it's great nonetheless.

After watching the video the Lambda indeed seems to have individual amp envelopes for each note getting by the retriggering problem.
However that it should have other than paraphonic, i.e. just one per section, filter I stongly doubt. The filters are just two pots in the "Accent"-section and no user input is possible other than cutoff-value.

(And somewhat strange is the video's empahsis on "2 ENVs AND 2 AMPs"... In reality an envelope without, in this case, an amplifier isn't to any great help as there's nothing for the envelope to control. So why not just group them: "48 VCAs per section" or "48 ENVs per section"? Seems like it's abut the high score more than the usage...)
