Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

This feature would be important to my workflow as i mainly use my studio desktop PC and my keyboard or mouse is not directly accessible from where my mpc is, moving from one to another kills inspiration. Also ascii symbols need not be on the pads, simply hitting WINDOW on the required field then lets say F6 could be RENAME, then use jog wheel to scroll symbols for 1st letter (eg. H), then LEFT or RIGHT arrow key to move to the next letter and repeat (eg. I), then hit DO IT. And NO, this is not faster than me typing this very document using my keyboard, but workflow is not just about how quick you can achieve your goal, other factors include staying in the same mindframe. For me personally, when i'm in audio land I want to stay locked to my mpc, but a mouse and keyboard are great when i'm working on a spreadsheet, browsing web etc.

I know I keep banging on about this, but it would be really good to obtain some acknowledgement from Akai that they are looking at improving Song Mode, at least fixing the glaring - almost rendering the last part of the workflow useless - issue.

In the video he mention update for MPC Essentials. Do anyone think Akai will unlock the track count in stand alone mode for the Essentials? :worthy:

Well, Essentials is still on 1.7 so I assumed he meant they'd update it to add all the 1.8 features...

The teaser vids usually come about a month before the update.

Totally agree .. Once my project sound are loaded in I turn the computer screen off to make beats. I feel more connected to the sound this way and wouldb really benefit from naming tracks.. sequences from the hardware. Its a killer having to look at that computer screen. And no it may not be faster but it keeps my mind in the zone.
