Using multiple midi synths inside daw in plugin mode?

Im trying to seqvence more then one midi drummachine/synth inside of the ren plugin, in pro tools 11.

I can only get one machine at a time to work. Is it only possible to use one midi channel at a time?

I no longer use Pro Tools but I can use 16 channels in Reaper (but only 1 midi port). What I have to do is send midi from the MPC Ren's track to separate midi tracks (in reaper) and then direct those tracks out to my hardware synths. Here's a video explaining how it's done in Reaper and I hope it gives you some ideas for a solution in Pro Tools.

I started out on Cubase in 2000 but I never felt quite comfortable with it so I switched to Sonar for several years but I would always have timing issues when I would record audio, I then switch to Pro Tools and took a course to learn how to use it and actually it was cool but I would have issues with midi. I really liked the mixing environment and automation in Pro Tools but what made me switch was:
1) I hated how long it took to bounce/render
2) Product support (you have to pay to get simple questions answered)
3) Lack of support for legacy hardware.
4) At the time, you had to use digidesign interfaces.
5) Some 3rd party plugins didn't work.
6) several other issues that I can't really remember now but I do remember being frustrated.

Someone at the Guitar Center mention Reaper so I gave it a try and it just worked effortlessly. It worked great on my main computer, I even tried it on a very old computer (that Sonar and Pro Tools wouldn't work on) and it didn't even hiccup. After using it more and more it just did everything that I wanted and needed so I sold Pro Tools to a friend of mine and never looked back.
