Any recommendation for an audio interface?

I need an usb audio interface with min 6 analog outs for live stuff.
I don't want Behringer, a desktop model (doesn't have to have rack size like 19" but on top knobs are a no go), 8 or 16 ins (I just want enough outs and don't wanna pay for useless ins)

I havn't found any new stuff in my price range (max 500) that seem to fit, so I thought there are some older interfaces that I could find in the used stuff section.

So does anyone have recommendations?

try a focusrite scarlett 18i20.
should be available in germany for around 500.
the routing software is easy to use. you can save and load them according to your live setup. its a breeze and works very nice in my opinion.

You should definitely go for Focusrite. I've had Saffire PRO 24 DSP for like 4 years and I've never regretted that I got it. The converters and pre-amps have always been their trademark of quality. The build quality is also great. My friend has a smaller Scarlett interface and I think it's robust metal casing would fit for live use and mobile as well.
Plus the prices are comparably low when considering what you get with that money.

Motu ultralite mk3 hybrid

Tascam are making fairley reasonable priced ones with loads of INs and OUTs

i was gonna say focusrite as well.

if you could adapt your flow any, the soundcraft mtk 12 that is coming out seems like a killer mixer/multi-channel interface for $400.
this would work if you are using an external mixer, maybe not so much if your routing is more complex.

i think you could get teh older version of the 8oo for instance for under 1000 euros these days. the 400 model is way cheaper. or

I was going to suggest that one too... however I have never tried an ultralite with USB.. but that one should do firewire as well... I have an older one with firewire only and it is solid.

I believe the newer hybrid ones have DSP effects built in too if you want..


but one great motu feature is it can do CV from what I hear... I have never tried that but my friend has the hybrid and apparently uses ableton to send out cv to his sub 37.

Damn that MOTU seem to be exactly what I'm looking for and my wallet is happy about the price for a used one.
