how to get this sound right?

I got some "problems" with sampling the drums right.
i don't have so many good records yet to sample drums of but...

here's the problem. if i found a nice drum sample, i'm gonna try to sample it by increasing the level of the signal of the turntable on my mixer and i trim it a bit. and i put up the gain a little on the drum machine cause otherwise the signal will be low.

i sampled a nice snare of an album of Ottis retting it sounds nice on the record but when i sample it i got all those backgrounds noises in it . i really like the oldschool sound, i don't care about the "crackling sound"of a record. its sounds nice. BUT i get some hard stupid background noise. if a chop the sample up so i get only the snare there is some hard noise on the background i want to get rid of this (not the "crackling sound" but the other noise), any tips on how to do this

if i try to make a beat with those sounds it won't groove right. not even when i use some swing or when i program the drums in a different order.

Software noise reduction like sound soap will do the trick, about $100.00.
It can remove cracks, pops and other noise. Its for PC only.

Also if you are turning the rec gain up too high on your mp you will get hiss, I don't know if this is the hard noise you are talking about tho. Have you tryed cleaning your records? Also check to see if your record player is grounded,if its not you could be getting some Hum noise.

Is it a AC humming sound? Could be a ground loop, try keeping the MPC and turntable on the same AC strip.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ has some reasonable audio restoration stuff for no charge, like Noise Removal, or try the Compressor with different Threshold settings.

I tryed cleaning the record but that doesn't help. the ground thingy from my turntable is connected the right to my mixer.
I tryed doing something with treshold, that helps pretty much, its not all gone but the sound i sampled itself is way better now

I hear the sound too when everything is shut off except for my mixer when i have my headphones in the mixer, is this normal? or is there something wrong with my mixer? its 4 months old with not that very much use, its a vestax pmc 05 pro 3.

Hard to say... if you can't get it sounding good through headphones in the mixer, then you have a basic signal problem. We assume you have the turntable hooked up right, as the turntable manual says? (Don't mix up Phono and Line signals.)

I've always gotten some type of hiss from the outputs of the turntable mixer. The sound is always clean though coming out of the headphone output, so that's what I use. Anything else and it's hiss and bzzzz... You'll always get snap crackle and pop (which I like) from the record.
