hardware sequencers

so after a year or so of trying, I've had enough of the maschine. I hate it.

Anyway, I'm back to looking for a hardware sequencer. I was pretty set on either an mpc 4 or 5x, having had both for years. My Kronos has replaced any sort of sampling I was doing on the mpc, so I'm just looking for the most capable sequencer I can get my hands on.

But before I jump into another mpc....what are halls thoughts on the mv8800? This thing would be studio only, although I do enjoy the sequence to pad feature on the mpc a bunch for jamming and all that. Everything I read says the 8800 is the deeper machine, and I've been at this for years and aren't scared of the learning curve, so it really kind of seems Like it might be worth jumping in to.

The only real concerns I have are the 480 npqn and the 2 midi outs. I have a kronos, integra, motif, s950, e4xt and vs2480. I figure I can midi through everything, I just figured I'd bring it up in case I was going to run I to timing troubles or anything.

So yeah, any thoughts?

You'll be hard pressed to find a sequencer that can outdo this mother.

I should also probably mention I'm looking to do all sorts of stuff, from sequencing drums for friends singer singer writer pop bs to sequencing breaks for a judge glee thing a friend and I are doing to continuing to try to work on soundtrack type stuff for some friends who make films regionally.

That's what has me thinking the mv8800 is worth looking into, actually. it seems a lot more feature packed as a sequencer, but I'm not sure if I'm just buying into marketing
