I was the same... I stocked up on rechargeable batteries, memory card, card reader etc. The more I looked into it the more clunky the OS looks though, especially coming from the OP-1 and JJOS.
I'll mothball the batteries and other stuff in the hope that Korg develop the features and workflow, but OS version 1.0 isn't for me. Hopefully you get on with it ok Ill. 
Coz, you were right. I had big hopes for this but I had mine for a month and returned it back in October. Big turn off for me was lack of control over quantize. Its automatic and cannot be changed or turned off, you practically stuck at 96ppn. Now if I could change the ppn to 960 then I would be cool if quantize was on or not. Second, I was hoping to use it like a tape recorder like I have been doing with all my other samplers of resampling pieces of a sequence to pads, but this was frustrating being confined to the Parts. Just can't be done.
Other than that, its a fun machine just like the other Electribe samplers. Saves your knob movements too which wow'd the shit out of me. Final verdict is that there is nothing here that I have already in my arsenal. Buy it if you looking for something on the go, it runs on batteries like the 500. Unfortunately, this will not replace my 500
Roland gonna change the game I hear next week at NAMM. Lets see, its a new groovebox, SP or MV don't know, but its gonna go nuts.
