Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I bought a second hand MPC 2000 XL a few months back for the 8 outs, I bought the unit for the price of what the 8 out cost basically. Only a few of the pads worked, so I decided to buy a replacement sensor sheet. After the replacement sensor sheet was installed, none of the pads on the sensor responded. I decided to reinstall the old sensor sheet hoping that at least the few that had worked would still be responsive. To no avail it also was entirely unresponsive. I made sure the tab lined up perfectly by taking the black clip off, lining the tab up, then inserting the clip. So here are my questions:

1. Could I have broken the sensor connections in both set of sensors from being to rough with the install (even though I was extremely careful).

2. Could there be an issue with the top PCB board or on the actual main board?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

The replacement sensor sheet I bought was a used sensor sheet. I know the membrane on the older sensor sheets on the tab area are very sensitive and can break the internally really easily. Should I buy a newer designed one from VST/MPC Stuff that has the green color near the tab? Or is there something else going on here I'm overlooking?

If I understand correctly the 8-output board was already installed yes? You did not install it yourself?

Star One!!!! AWESOME!!!! I just saw the link and ordered the part, I'll keep you posted on the results. I also left a reply in the thread you left the link to. Everything is working except the pad sensors. Yes the sensors are lined up into the P300 connection. I'll keep everyone posted on this as soon as I get the part.
