Approved SCSI's?

What SCSI drives are approved to be used with the MPC2000XL?

That idiot that has been flooding eBay recently with "approved" hardware is just doing it to get people to buy the drives.

Any SCSI-1 or SCSI-2 drive should work provided that you have the right cables to initiate the connection.

SCSI-3 will only work if the bios on the hard drive is able to run in SCSI-2/SCSI-1 mode. You'll also need a 80 to 68/50 pin adapter and the appropriate external enclosure to do this.

A 68 pin SCSI dont work in a 50 pin right? And what exactly is the 'appropriate external enclosure'

But can i just plug a hard drive in the SCSI and save directly to that or do i have to save on a CF card or something like that?

A scsi enclosure to house the hard drive you want to use. You're not thinking about installing a hard drive inside the MPC are you? That won't work out well.

An appropriate enclosure would be a SCSI enclosure that can handle the type of SCSI drive you are trying to use. So yeah, if you had a 68 pin scsi hard drive, in a 68 pin enclosure, you would need a 68 pin to a hd 50 cable.
