The board that converts normal simms to operate on these samplers uses its own separate logic. I do not know if the logic is reprogrammed to handle the mapping or what, so I'm not sure if it's a matter of redoing/remaking the schematics from one of those adapters.

the realworld interfaces/firstprinciples/robin whittle boards are actualy a 32mb board. it uses two 16mb simms, it also does some clever things with the address lines, hence the gate array chip. to the sampler it looks like 4 x exm008

the exm008 is really just two 4mb simms with a couple of buffer chips in a custom form factor. if you look at the schematics for a 30pin simm you'll see that they are identical to the exm boards apart from the connector and the buffer chips.

yeah its a bit more involved than just cloning the board, since it involves understanding what the chips are doing.
