If you have different sample rates for the TB-3 and the Ren this could definitely cause the problem. Are you on a Mac or a PC? On Mac I think you should be able to change the sample rate in the Audio MIDI settings (scratch that, the TB-3 is locked to 96000).

Otherwise try and make your sample rate settings match if they don't. You'd have to switch the Ren to 96kHz to match with the TB-3 (because it's locked at 96kHz sampling rate.

Seeing that it's happening consistently on time and you're dealing with a "clock" rate it makes sense that there could be some sort of issue with sample rates not matching up.

If your Ren is set to 41100 and your TB-3 is locked at 96000 you're going to have issues with your audio. Until Roland implements a way to switch to 44100 or you switch your Ren to 96000 (which isn't the greatest idea) you wont be able to use the TB-3 USB audio along with the Ren interface without experiencing problems with the audio.

You are, for now, better off just running 1/4 audio inputs to the Ren.

As an experiment try switching your Ren to 96khz sampling rate and see if the problem goes away ( you may have to increase your latency so your computer can keep up).

You'd have to switch the Ren to 96kHz to match with the TB-3 (because it's locked at 96kHz sampling rate.

It is, they are the MPC Software audio settings he listed.

And it is already on the maximum buffer size of 1024.

He said it was working OK with the TB-3 as both the input and output device, or when listening to the TB-3 analogue output directly.

I think you're spot on here Simon

Yeah I missed that, definitely too many digital clocks happening here.
It's also possible that his computer can't handle 96kHz, that's pretty CPU intensive.

Yeah unfortunately it looks locked at 96000hz. You could take a look in your MIDI and Audio settings on your Mac, sometimes you can adjust settings there. If you could get it to 44100 you may not have problems. It looks like the TB-3 interface is forcing the Ren to 96000

The USB digital audio output of both the TB-3 and TR-8 are fixed at 96kHz, at this stage, at least, they can not be changed.

There are control panel settings for the tb-3 under the main system prefs on the mac
Lol,
Not tried it yet to see if it works as I've just done a fresh install and can't install the mpc progs as I have a Mac mini with no DVD drive ,ask akai for the downloads but have been told to phone customer services ,cheaper to buy a drive,

Question , if you was using maschine could you download all the software ,

Is there any way to use the TB3 with the MPC Studio (stand alone, no DAW). I also have the Mac Mini.

Yes ,just use it as a midi device , or u could sample it , or use the looper , not using mpc anymore so haven't tried it since I last posted on this thread , sold it and got maschine ,
Lol My maschine is a now year old.
