audio midi interface

I just purchased sonar 4 and I have an mpc1000 and a motif. What is the best interface to use. And what is the best way, if any to get a firewire port in my laptop. I have a vaio. I just need a real nice sound card/interface. and I would love firewire, but if I have to I will use usb. From your experience what has the lowest latency? Thanks for the help.

how much you want to spend? do you want to be portable? how portable? what type of setup are you planning? external efx with a mixer? software efx? do you have a firewire harddrive (you going to need on)?
