MIDI Syncing (mpc 1000/fantom xr/controller)

Ill keep this simple.


I want to sync up my fantom xr to my mpc. I want to have the MPC1000 as the master.

I also have a midi controller, and I would like to control the Fantom XR with it. All the while have the mpc as the master.



So how do I go about doing this??

mmm I don't have the fantom... is it a rack mount? I guess by you saying that you have a controller it is... I am not going to front like I know... but does the midi controller have a Thru on it?

I know with my 2000xl I have my triton and my emu px-7 midi'd on it... know when I choose Midi B device 1 on my mpc --- that's my EMU and I can KEY IT from MY TRITON... so the mpc is calling for the EMU's sounds but the Triton can act as the controller...

have you tried Midi'n out to both?

Phantom midi out to mpc midi in A, mpc midi out to phantom midi in A.

Plug the controller in the other midi input, or you can swap A/B.

Then you gotta learn the midi of each unit to some degree, and if you use the phantom as the controller, turn local off on it.

the connections should be proper. but its the syncing of the 2(mpc/fantom) that is buggin me out
