Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Sup.. I appreciate there are a ton of threads about this.. I have read practically everypost in all of them and still unsure.. so anyways...

I have a MPC2000 with 8 outs which i plan on putting into an XL....

I can see a whole load of tutorials and such showing how to install 8 outs into an XL but can't really see anything about how to remove 8 outs from a 2000.

Anyone done this? is it as simple as opening up the bottom. Unplugging it, then plugging into the XL?

taaaa

I guess you didn't look very much. I wrote this on how to not kill your 2000XL doing this. And how to fix it if you do kill it.

Second post is a guide from Jibber showing you how to remove it.

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=176998

Couple posts down I give a guide on how to do it without modifying the support plate.

And just below that, is how you can make a cable.

That thread will cover you A to Z  Even if you screw it up, your GOOD.

HIya from what i can tell, taking out the card is waaay different on an MPC2000 than an XL?

I haven't got to the install yet

I am struggling to find any information on how to take the card out of an MPC2000 : )

Yeah I guess it would be different, but I don't think it would be too difficult to do, just have to use your head.

After some reading someone said the directions are in the manual for the classic

Have you just tried to open it up yourself? You'll end up with gray hair by the time someone replies  I sat and looked at some pictures. It doesn't look difficult at all. Sure it might be a pain compared to the 2000XL, but really there is not a whole lot going on.

If you never done stuff like this before, it's pretty simple you just have to use intuition. If you unscrew everything you see, and something still does not come out, stop and keep searching. There is another screw or tab. Don't force anything. Take photos if your unfamiliar inside a machine. This way you know what goes where if you unplug or take anything out.

In your case, no problem, you just need to take a board out
