Hi,
I can`t use 1.7 or 1.8 as a plugin in Pro Tools 10. Crashes all the time. This was never a problem with 1.6, but still the Akai support team claims the problem lies with Pro Tools.
Anyone with the same setup that would be kind to share their experiences?

(Pro Tools error code -9128)

PT10 HD here crashes when I use AAX plugin, i removed it from the aax plugin folder, RTAS works OK it does crash sometimes BUT have no evidence its MPC Plug, have disabled all plugins in MPC software

Any more PT users out here?

I have also removed the AAX, but there`s no difference. Akai has apparently done some change to the software that makes it incompatible with PT. And they don`t know what it is and won`t admit it, blaming Pro Tools (which hasn`t been changed).
Seriously considering Maschine.

Interesting. I thought I was crazy. I purchased the Renaissance last year and I unfortunately have never used it because I produce in ProTools.. I was a MPC 2000xl user so love using the MPC for making my drum patterns....
Well I guess I'm screwed
Boooo... :hmmm: :| :Sigh: :(

You should contact Akai support so they understand that it`s a common problem.

Bingo!

Every time I try to load a sequence and sometimes a program the MPC plug in crashes pro tools 10. Many of these sequences contain 3rd party plug ins but I dont even see it get to the point where its trying to load plug ins..it crashes right away.

I was on Mavericks and even cracked back to Mountain Lion to see if this solved the problem. Im going to Maschine if there is no fix within a reasonable time. Which sucks because i already invested a shit load of time learning MPC.

Someone is sleeping at Akai

Could this be some 32 / 64 bit thing?

Has anyone figured out what the deal is?

same here! I use MPC ren as plugin in pro tools 10. Tested 1.7 and 1.8 - huge CPU spikes and can't play the most empty of sessions.

Going back to 1.6!

"1.8.3 any better as a plugin in pro tools 10?"

No, I have been using PT10 x 1.8.3 MPC with the same crash results. I normally compose within MPC software then send all the files to PT for any further work.
I'm considering the newest OS [1.9] to see if that helps any.

Thank you for this update. I think I am going to get a used MacBook Pro 16gb for dedicated stand alone use of MPC Renaissance. Sync it with protools. My only hope with this setup is that soundtoys plugins runs smooth in Renaissance software.
