But it reacts when i press pad 14 :hmmm:

Hey guys, first post on this section of the forum, but i use to post on 60/3000 section - I owned a MPC60 that i sold and regret everyday..
But i found a nice deal on a XL and got it today.

Appreciate if anyone has any advice concerning the issue above.
Cheers!

Possible loose connection on the circuit board from a broken solder joint.

I mainly use the slider to trim samples.

This is a bit off topic but, is trimming samples with the note variation slider just something XL's can do or can I do it on my 2000?

My note variation slider works but I've never found any particular use for it.
But fair play to the original post'er, nice to have everything working as it should.
Hope you get it sorted.

From what I recall, it won't work with the 2000.

I took part a dodgy NV slider and found all kind of hair, dirt and lint (?) in the slider's contacts. I used compressed air to clean it out, bent all the connections outward, cleaned the slider connections with isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip, pieced it back together and now it works great! :smoker:

A common use is doing note repeat triplet (trap style) snares and overdubbing the pitch drop using the NV slider. I also have used it to make a hihat out of a cymbal using decay and varying the decay to make it sound natural.

I'd like to see a step-by-step tutorial on how to clean this thing. I'm experiencing the same exact issue (NV slider doesn't work, but tapping pad 14 makes it react when in diagnostic mode).

That's great
I'd recommend greasing the track before you put it all back together though.
If you don't the pot wont last long.
something like this will do the job but you may be able to get a little squeezy tube a lot cheaper.
