Ren: Pad Sensitivity

Has anyone else noticed that the pad velocity is not sensitive enough?

I've experimented a bit with the Pad Threshold and Pad Sensitivity options and wasn't impressed. When I turn full level off, it seems like theirs 3-4 layers to the velocity. On the 3000, I could build up the crescendo on a cymbal very smoothly. On the Ren, it seems like the velocity increases in "steps" that are very obvious audibly.

As I write, I'm thinking perhaps buffer settings affect this? I'm not sure, whatever the case, I want my pads to be more sensitive -- like if I barely tap my finger it registers a low velocity tap. I have to put a few bit of force into the press for it to register.

Has anyone experimented with installing MPC-Stuff's cork sensors?

I have the same Problem here. Just want my old MPC2000 Pad Feeling and would love to know how the correct setting of sensibility, threshold and curve would be.
Hope that this is even possible.
My Setting is:
Threshold: 1
Sensitivity: 8
Curve: B
But i am still not happy.

Yeah the Ren's pads suck in general. Thin and cheap-feeling with almost no give. When I first got the unit I was surprised how cheap it felt compared to all other MPCs. And I agree about sensitivity. It's weak.

Hit the corners, they're sensitive. Middle of the pad is less sensitive than them.
