Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I've been trawling message boards and the internet all day but still can't fathom this one out. Apologies if its something easy but i need some help

I've ableton set up as the master sending the midi clock to the mpc. When it plays in Ableton there is a slight delay so it is not exactly synced with the metronome.

Can anyone help?

I have tried adjusting latency, track delay and the clock sync delay within the midi sync ableton preferences. the odd time whilst playing with the delay it lines up. But when i stop and start it again its back out of sync even though the settings are the same.

Maybe it's just the latency of your soundcard inputs?

In my experience, Ableton is the worst DAW when it comes to playing nicely with the MPC. There always seems to be sync issues. Does Ableton need to be the master? What kind of results do you get with the MPC as the master & Live as the slave?

Thanks for the reply. I've managed to fix this this issue. I've got Ableton running as the master and mpc as a slave.

I messed about the the latency inside preferences - midi - output - midi clock sync delay. Its been different the two times since i start the computer up.

i also changed the tempo on the mpc to 80 at first. It found it easier to catch up to the metronone of ableton for some reason from here.

Seems to be working alot better now. Workable anyhow. hope this helps anyone else who finds themselves in the same situation
