Akai advance 49 crashes!

Not a good start

Software crashes, water is wet, the sky is blue, most farts stink.........

I totally get the frustration. Of course software crashes but 500 bucks is a lot of money, I can expect more than that. Yeah, and probably there are lots of people that do not have any problem. Still it is frustrating.
Buddy of mine picked it up today and is installing everything right now as I am posting this. Curious to see what happens. Anybody else with bad experiences so far? And anybody really excited with this keyboard? Especially in connection with the Ren I mean.

True. I've had my 61 for a few days now. Have been spending my time with getting all of my VSTs working in it and even had some time to actually create something. I've a grand total of 3 crashes, mostly because I did some stupid shit like mess with settings in the middle of sequencing.

think it's the big 3.0 im going to hit next month doing the talking these days but if you dont want to deal with early bird software crashes dont buy shit as soon as it comes out!. let others do the test bunny work...I just copped ren last christmas cuz didnt wanna deal with the frustrations...and i'm going to get this advanced joint but after few updates.

There is a firmware update for our Advance 61. Maybe it will improve things for you. Good Luck!

I've been fortunate not to experience any crashes as of yet, however I havent pushed the software to its limit yet either.

No crashes here either,I also use ElectraX not a single crash, when loading multiple patches.

I have only had a few myself, which is nothing out of the ordinary on any system with any daw or plugin. Definitely want to make sure you have all of your plugins updated though. I'm even running Windows 10.

Decided to buy the 61 key version and got it yesterday. God damn this thing is a beast. I've never had a keyboard workstation or anything like that, so maybe that's why I'm so impressed, but the way this thing handles VST-i:s is so cool!

The workflow with Ren is really quick and hands on. It reduces the time in front of the monitor/keyboard/mouse to minimum (although I never really minded before I got this thing). I used to use a lot presets with minor tweaks here and there, but the way VIP-software maps the plugins, tweaking the presets is a lot more fun. Basically now I take a preset and make it a whole another sound, and that's inspiring!

Overall it's worth every penny, thanks to VIP-software. Best investment in music I've made in a long while...

^Agree 90%! My only gripe is there could be just a bit more documentation on preset mapping management. A lot of VSTs I use are home-cooked and not off the shelf. Manually importing is a pain.

And why is VIP NOT a 32/64 VST Wrapper? JBridge is killing me lately...

Yeah, that's what I thought too.

Atleast 32bit version of MPC-software seems to have some problems while exporting a beat with few VIP-tracks on it. MPC might hang and crash as it starts the exporting process. This is random tho, as it might or might not crash using the very same project...
