I think it'd be hella dope if you could enter into your MPC software track names that would always be remembered by the software, and you could then select from them the hardware....we all have the need for Beat 1,2,3, Bass, hihat, string etc etc...you'd only have to enter them once from your keyboard.

I think it would be useful. It would keep users from going to the keyboard and keep them on the hardware. Yes, it's fast to type it on the keyboard but I would like to be able to do everything from the hardware.

I thought connecting computer keyboard to mpc 4000 to name stuff was the greatest invention in an mpc... people dumped legacy mpcs for faster workflow of mpc ren and are requesting feature that slows workflow down, what the hell :WTF:

The best way to do this would be to have the ability to cursor to the track name field on the mpc hardware and immediately type in a track name on the computer keyboard. If I remember correctly, this is how it was done on the 4000/s5000/s6000.

You are right in a way... Some people are not sat in front of their computer while making beats and its annoying having to stop to name 11 tracks because you want to create another sequence... I used to rename tracks at the end of creating multiple sequences and it took for ever even if I had duplicated tracks from one seq to the next, they required individual renaming.PAIN. If I could do it on the go via hardware then im good to copc sequences witout havhng to re name a bunch

I respect the opinion of those who want it, IMO this task is still easier accomplished and few times faster from wireless computer keyboard and computer monitor, even if you had to get up and walk few feet a couple of feet every time
