Non Destructive Chopping on JJOS128xl

Is it possible? If you do destructive chopping (even after not looping in trim and adding back the release) the samples are to choppy when played in sequence. What I would like to do is extend the ends of each chop so they are more fluid when programming in mono play mode.

If it is not possible how are people getting samples to play into each other without sounding choppy?

PS: I read something about program mode in trip but when i go into trim and select program mode the slice option disappears :/

There are a few things that contribute to your choppy sequence of samples.
One of these is tempo. If you play the chops slower than the original there will be more time between chops the slower you go. Also there is the chops themselves, if your chops have been done too long before the transients of the sample, or its not on the zero point of the sample, this makes it glitchy as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you can't autochop with jjos128xl right? I'm really missing that feature.

what do you mean auto chop? have you RTFM? there is two or so ways to chop in 128XL. do you mean in the trim or program window? have a go chopping in both trim and program and don't forget to RTFM and see if it does what you want to do. What is it that your trying to do?

WTF? I gave him a direct link to the online manual which explains exactly how to chop in program mode. There's no need to explain something that is already explained perfectly well elsewhere.

After reading that, if anything is still unclear, we can help him further.

I wish we could autochop on the os128xl version.

Speaking of RTFM. The comparison chart says there is no auto chop feature for OS128XL.

Autochop has always been pretty useless on the 1000/2500 in my experience!

Sometimes I find it handy when it comes to chop a drumbreak automatically.
Or like you mention in the JJ OS XL chopping bible, associated with NDC and musical samples it can bring totally unexpected results and develop creativity

Why would one use a " AUTOCHOP " feature anyways? There isn't a program out there that can get the chops perfect. You got to practice chopping manually.
