Hi I have been using mpc 5000 for a while and now i am trying to make beats on mpc 3000 but i have few issues.
is it possible to save sounds and sequence together like its possible in npc 5000 or i can save only sequence data ,and sounds i need to load them every time i am turning mpc on and load them exactly on the same pads to get my sequence playing right.?

I don't know if I understand your question. But you can save your program too. Just hit the DISK button and then hit 4 (or 5 if you have multiple programs that you want to save). If you save a program, it also saves the pad assignment, output assignment and so on. So next time you only need to load up your saved sequence file and program file and all should be like when you saved your beat.

Hope that helps

Thank you for your help.
You are right i should ask this question differently but I have the answer I was looking for.
But now I have issue no 2

When I am trying to save :
3. A sound
4. A program
5. All programs

I am getting this:
Attention!
Sorry, this file(or possibly the entire disk)contains damaged data.
For safety, transfer any other good files on this disk to another disk and stop using this disk.

Only when I am saving
1. A Sequence
2. All Seq & songs
...there is no problem?

Have you ever experienced this problem?

I am using SCSI to connect Compact Flash card reader Tecmar and Transcend 1 GB card to save data.
And I am using Awave Studio to convert Wav file to SND and MPC is playing sounds when assigned to a pad but can't save ...

I have this problem with only one cf card out of three. And I think it has to do with how I formated it. On what OS is your mpc running?
Also it is adviced to have one card only for transfering sounds from PC to MPC and vice versa and other cards to save your beats. Because there is a slight chance that the pc corrupts your cf card...

Hi
Thank You again. Do you mind telling me what are the CF cards that are working fine with your MPC ?
I have a small problem because my cf reader is not hot swap i hope i can turn it off while mpc is running and than change the card.
OS version 3.11
All the best
Thank You

I have three SanDisk Ultra II 1 GB cards. I think there are other confirmed cards, you have to search here. There are quite some threads about this topic.
And you should really consider getting Vailixi OS. It makes the MPC 3000 so much better!

I suggest it's rather a sign of an aged card about to fail, assuming that card wasn't new from begin with. Maybe it's more related to the Brand/Type of CF card, but your mileage does vary quite a bit and some cards work better than others. Usually the older the spec, the less you're confronted with formatting or hot swap issues in my experience, so think about life cycles when they had been in use in various Digicams.
The first 1GB SanDisk Ultra I ever got for my 3K recently reported the same error. Another CF card of the same type, albeit younger, took over. It seems that reading the card works fine, but you just won't save anything old or new onto it anymore.
