Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

If I had a choice my preference would be for to skip the audio tracks and make the plugin function properly. I never understood why you would want a sequencer inside of a sequencer. Or, create a stripped down mpc software version that lets you sample, chop and load drums but still lets your daw sequence it like battery.

The MPC should be able to stand ALONE! Using it with a DAW that you don't need the MPC to make music with should not be ahead of audio tracks when it comes to future dev. New users shouldn't have to need two Daw's when the can do the job with one..

I can only speak upon my workflow but the only reason I need the MPC Ren is because it's the best controller as far as build. It feels much more sturdier than Maschine or any MPD. I also need it because of the way it lets you chop, I haven't found anything that works the same in a daw. Also, the ability to load 128 drums samples. Ableton does this but the drumrack window was designed for Smurfs and Antman. Arranging with the Ren is antiquated so I'd rather arrange in a daw where I can easily move things around. I did enough "copy sequence" when I had a 2000xl.

Even if audio tracks are added, there are tons of reasons why I'd still want plugin mode to be finally updated. Audio takes, comping, fades, editing,.. The mpc doesn't, nor would likely come close to what a daw can do. But here's what I always say... If tracks are a kick, snare, hi that, sample and a vocal track, this thing is golden, and audio tracks makes sense. but more complex compositions... Need a daw for that.

And arranging in the Ren is definitely antiquated. Adding audio tracks to a software that requires sequence by sequence composing is going to be a mess.

Like someone else said, I wish they'd provide an option to turn off the mpc sequencer in plugin mode. It's silly that you have to mind after two timelines just to use this as a plugin. Then allow me to sequence my sounds in the daw sequencer (just like every other plugin instrument on the planet ) using the Ren hardware. Right now it's a half-baked implementation at best.

I haven't heard any songs on this site that couldn't be done with just the mpc software if audio tracks and a few editing features were added. I don't want to see the day when the mpc is nothing but a plug in smh.

The MPC hasn't had a lick of updates for the plugin yet (daw users) so lets get that clear, other then the fact it's a vst/au/aax.. There's been no significant updates for DAW users, so before we go ripping DAW users requests down, breathe easy, as most of us daw users have had to sit back every update and just watch.

No DAW users are saying Standalone MPC updates should have to suffer because DAW updates are in need of a critical update. Lets just make this very clear, before we get the BS comments to sidetrack the main point of this thread, these forums are all to familiar with.

Thanks

To the dev's working on the updates, users/customers have made this very clear what features are needed to get the REN to at least a level of their competition and workflow which is Maschine. Here they are.. just in case you forgot.???

1. MIDI OUT in DAW

2. DRAG n DROP Audio and Midi from pads for Bouncing Down audio and rearranging midi parts.

3. MULTIPLE OUTPUTS Mono+Stereo outputs for pads, Stereo outs aren't always ideal or enough.

As you can see, these requests would never in a million years de-rail audio track requests. It's a almost a crime, that DAW users are still waiting for such small features to be implemented.

here's hoping AKAI turns this around soon.

Well let's really get it straight! Audio tracks should have been included before release seeing that the mpc 5000 had audio tracks. at least you have a plugin option. Truth be told if audio tracks existed from day one a lot of us wouldn't have to open up another daw by now. You're asking for an update for a feature that already exist in the mpc software. I'm asking for a feature that was around before we were born. There's nothing wrong with what you want but the dev's should be working on making the mpc software more self sufficient FIRST before focusing on being a plugin in other companies product/daw. Chances are you'll get what you want before I get what we should've had on release lol. All new updates and added features is a plus.

All those feature request is for working in other daw's. Audio tracks is for working in the mpc software (to get away from other daw's) DOING EVERYTHING WITHIN THE MPC SOFTWARE SHOULD BE PRIORITY#1 Smh. Maybe when the protools contract ends lol.

I support the request for audio tracks as well loud n clear, being that I owned a Mpc 4k, Mpc2500,Mpc 5k I can definitely understand the want and need for it, but as time grew I gave up on requesting it, many moons have passed, and they never did it.. What I'm asking for with MIDI OUT is a feature that ALREADY works in a hardware Mpc.. Crazy right, either way I hope they shock me.. and actually implement them both

Asking for a feature that existed before u where born ,Err the Mpc 5000 came out in 2008 , are u a 7 year old beat maker ?
The Mpc software can output midi it just can't input and output at the same time .
They should of really sorted out the plugin mode by now , maybe there struggling to do it
Can't see them adding audio tracks tbh

I would also like to see both audio tracks and plugin mode enhancements. Honestly wouldn't use audio tracks, but I get it - others will, and it should be there anyway, so it'd be nice to see it added. But agree that plugin mode is a shame. And I'm also frustrated that all of these updates have gone by with little attention to plugin mode (except for increasing virtual outs). I've been waiting for plugin improvements for all this time, and honestly, I was hopeful for a while, but don't see it happening anymore.

I'm talking about audio track recording existing before Akai existed but I see you didn't get it lol.
