Thanks for the post!

The Song Mode itself does accept tempo and time signature changes. When inserting sequence steps in Song Mode, each sequence's original tempo/time signature is brought in automatically. This is not happening for you?

Now if you use the CONVERT > SEQ function, then the tempo of the first sequence becomes the default. The tempo/time cannot be changed in the middle of a sequence.

What you are asking for is tempo automation I think, as in Reason.
Song mode is just a playback of different seqs, where each has its own tempo and time sig. But 1 seq only can have one tempo and time sig, so that's why when you convert song to seq the tempo changes are lost.
With tempo automation what you ask for could be achived.
I too vote for tempo automation in the MPC. :nod:

I have the same issue in sequence mode. I can insert time signature changes but not tempo changes.

I am trying to convert data from SONAR X3 to MPC REN, but the lack of basic tempo control will not allow me to use many arrangements that have many years of work invested.

The tempo change should be implemented the same way as time signature change. You right click on the time line and you should get the option to change time signature and tempo.

The greatest arrangements include tempo changes. Look at Stairway to Heaven and Jimi Hendrix's Fire. You just have to step on the gas pedal in certain parts of the arrangement.

I also sent a request to AKAI Support. So far no response to my question.

ive never had a issue with that i'm actually working a track right now my first sequience is tempo 78bm and my next sequence 81 and its in song mode thats weird

Ok so now I realize that you have to actually stay in Song Mode for the BPM changes to occur. You can't convert your song into a sequence, like you can on every other MPC in history (without it changing your BPMs).

I really really hope they change this in the future.

multiple sequence converting trouble when converting in song

please help me,
When I convert 2 sequences in song mode they make a new sequence - as its suppose to. But in the new converted sequence, the two sequences sound like they are being stacked on top of each other, so instead of each sequence playing in the consecutive order (the way they are arranged in the song mode) they are playing over each other. Why is this error happening?

That reminds me of a problem I had when creating a new program after chopping and creating events. Maybe not the same, but very similar if I understand you correctly:

Unfortunately I had to start from scratch and delete the faulty project. Maybe somebody else got a better solution?
