Unable to adjust sample level in program mode

Once I've assigned my samples to pads and go to adjust the level in the mix, the display reads that the volume is going up and down when I turn the display wheel but no audible change is being made. It stays stuck at the original level no matter what I do. Has anyone heard of this? Pls help!

Slow it down a bit. Tell us what exactly are you doing step by step.

The only place I know that you'll see a meter going up and down is during sampling. Unless you worded that differently.

Did you hit MODE then Program?

Be sure that the cursor is on the volume numbers.

Yes I hit mode then program, scrolled down to sample level, navigated curser to volume numbers (defaulted to 70), and that's where the problem occurs. When I move the data wheel to adjust the sample leval, the volume numbers go up and down accordingly but the ACTUAL volume will neither increase or decrease. Long story short I see the numbers moving but hear no audible difference in any way what so ever. Any idea????
