It's not overkill.. That list is my answer to your question. because the things in that list is what i use everytime i open it up and it's my preferred method of working..
I'm not against adding audio tracks, i'm saying i'd prefer it to work better with my daw of choice unless they add all those things in their along with audio tracks. I'm not going back to a simpler method of working that will frustrate me because i now can't do the extra things that make it easier or quicker to accomplish.

It has too many limitations, but I don't care about a standalone workflow anyways. I write, track, mix in my daw, there's no standalone option that will ever be better then my daw, it simply will not happen. As each update my Mpc gets, my DAW gets one as well, and it's more of what I'm used to,it's focused on those 3 elements above.

I simply want my MPC to work well within my DAW. I'm part of that 80% (f thats even correct,I'd wager it's more in 2015) that uses a DAW for music production/tracking/mixing.

I'm here as long as I can be, I also have a Maschine Studio, it does most of what I want it to, I've not left Akai Mpc yet, but if things don't start shaping up, I'd be the first to say Maschine would be my go to.It's about 90% Daw ready, just needs better transport options and more robust hardware imo.

Well... I could write, track, mix and edit in the MPC if they add audio tracks! People always talk about how great there daw is but don't use 80% of it's features to make a 3 minute song. Be honest! You use synth/Fx plugins/audio tracks/editing features and not much more when you do your projects in your daw. Add Audio tracks/editing features to the mpc and I don't see a need to open, and import a project into a feature bloated daw. OVERKILL! The only thing I would use a daw for is mastering, but normaly i'll send it out to be mastered.

1st off real quick ,I'm not one of those people that don't know how to use a DAW, I use my DAW for what i need it for thats the 3 elements I explained. In those elements there are also many options. Now YOU BE HONEST, once you finally get audio tracks in your MPC, what then will you need, let me be the first to ask you, better editing features?
please, i can already imagine, my point is the DAW is sophisticated and already Mature, the Mpc in my opinion just needs a few added features in the plugin.

The idea of a Mpc being better to produce music as a whole then in my DAW, feature for feature is a joke, lets not even have that conversation,as it's laughable.

I'm not hating on your request,so again, stop trying to hate on the few, very FEW requests that are being mentioned that need to be fixed for the plugin and the DAW users that are willing to to push for it, venturing into multiple forums, support tickets, and whatever else they have to , to add awareness to the request.

I just don't understand the thought process, behind someone who would try to use this rationale when requesting features. Good luck with audio tracks, It'll be interesting when you ask for editing features, that don't exsist n how that will go.

Hopefully the plugin will have Midi Out by then, and I won't have to hear about it. :fku:

 so you choose the more complicated workflow vs the simpler easier workflow.

Mistamixx, why do you assist on these aggravating posts, that working in a Mpc standalone is easier then working on a MPC in a daw? :Sigh:

Do you have any idea of the workflow he uses that makes working in a daw better for him, because that's what he's talking about? Choice!

Why are you trying to convince us here that no matter what we think, and what workflow we're accustomed to, that working on the Mpc workflow is better? maybe for you,but you can't dictate shit to me or anyone else with their own brain.

Do us a favor, stick to the MPC workflow, and we'll use our Mpc in our DAWS. And we'll somehow agree on something that works for you doesn't n won't always work for me. Cool? Cool..

I hope audio tracks etc. make it in the Mpc, and I hope you hope DAW users get a simple option for midi out etc.

There's no need to try and dictate shit, cuz it ain't happening.

My post is not about dictating how anybody works. it's about Akai focusing on making its product better as a standalone software first and foremost. my problem is it seems that the Dawheads wants has become the main focus with the devs. Every other post on this site is about using the mpc as a plugin or how to get your mpc tracks into Reaper logic ProTools Cubase and every other daw on the planet. As soon as your daw gets updated you'll be right back here whining about the plug is not working lol. fruity loops/FL studio and reason Added audio tracks/ editing features and I want Akai to do the same. MPC standalone first! Using it as a plugin with other daws should be secondary. I would love to hear a project that you did using all those features you mentioned. do you have anything online That I can listen to?

That's the point, MPC isn't just standalone!!

what part of they made a plugin too don't you get?

I've simply requested a feature, that should be there by now,as well as others. Midi Out has been in every other Mpc ever made..

Have audio tracks ever been on an MPC? exactly..

The fact that Akai made a plugin bothers you? What if any daw features have been implemented to take away from Audio track development in the REN? Please I'm dying to hear this one.

Audio tracks was in the last mpc standalone. The MPC-5000 it should've been a feature from day one. I have the MPC-5000 as well.

I had an Mpc 5k as well, was a great piece of gear, I never knew the 5k had audio tracks though ;) shows how useful they we're to me. I really hope for your sake you get audio tracks in an update. Till then, I'll keep pushing for better features for the REN's plugin. Hopefully this thread ends with a smile, and it's all about choice.

I doubt DAW users have any effect on what Akai chooses to implement. And vice versa.

Mistamixx.... credits don't impress me, I have them too... major and indie labels. But it's good you got to work with him though. Love to see other people successful.

But lol, I'm gonna leave it alone. Asked twice now, still didn't get an answer. I get it. :-)

Do your thing man. Hope we get plugin enhancements, hope you get audio tracks. And hope they figure out how to lay them across sequences in song mode first. Else everyone will be back here complaining how useless they are, and then open up their DAW. LOL.

@Bobbybland, audio tracks in the 5000 was meh. Half-baked just like the 5000 OS when they abondoned it. I still have my 5000 though. Not getting rid of it!

Audio tracks is in song mode on the mpc-5000 with the half baked OS, but now we have the power of our computers. The Ren hardware has four midi outs to allow us to midi our keyboard synths/modules, and a audio interface but the software doesn't have audio tracks to record the synths/modules smh.. Makes no sense.

Uh yeah, we have loop mode to record synths and modules.

It's not the same as audio tracks. Try recording vocals.

Right on, I preferred my 4k tbh over all the Mpcs I ever owned, though the JJ2500 was pretty slick. Btw I really dig that album you got, nice work!

when i first got an mpc i used to think that the mpc should be a daw. but the more you get into music production and really see someone who mixes/masters beats. its a whole different world. and mpc should jsut focus and be the best it can be and **** a daw.
