Hey. I used to post around here (c. 2004), so what's real to long-time and long-lost mpc impressarios.
I'm having a weird issue with my mpc4000. Checked the internets, the manual, my brain---and can't figure it out. Long time mpc2000 user making the upgrade to the mpc4000 issue.
I love and am terrified by the machine so far. But this strange compatibility issue is making me cry. I never expected 100% compatibility, and am thrilled with how compatible they are so far (a real thrill to load/backup 10 2gb jaz disks worth of work in like 15 minutes!)
So here's the issue: All my old files are totally loading and working, except for they won't loop. No matter what I do, every single one of my loops plays as a one shot. They are still reading as loops in the TRIM window, and WILL play as loops in the TRIM window, but as soon as leave there and go to MAIN, PROGRAM etc, they play as one shots. I've gone into the LOOP window and tried every option, have played around with sustain and decay envelopes...nothing's working. Even when I copy the snd, set up the loop again, and assign it to the same pad, same shirt.
Anyone have ANY idea what I can do? I feel like there's something really basic and simple I'm missing. At least I hope so. I don't mind manually redoing 2 bar loops or whatever, but I did a ton of finely detailed loop work, and I'd like to get that back.
All hail to whomever can help me a little on this one. //Theo
