I recently bought a Akai Remix 16 which was never used, at the time. However, one of my pads doesn't work properly and you really have to push hard to get a contact. All the others are feather-light and work no problem.

Does anyone know if its something difficult to fix, or should a good electronics shop be able to sort it out? In case you're wondering what the pads are like they're those hard plastic type (which you often found on Roland drum machines, if I remember correctly).

Thanks in advance - I'm in Europe, if that's of any importance.

p.s. I also posted the same comment here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=96865

you can try spritzing some deoxit or a similar contact cleaner spray on the tact switch under the plastic button... that should work fine.

I found a guy who sells replacement faders on ebay that work in the remix 16.. but you need to solder them onto the little PCB boards.

Hi,

That sounds great, could you put a link into your reply so I can check up on that - the ebay contact.

In the meanwhile I'll have a go with the spray, thanks.

the ebay user is http://www.ebay.ca/usr/dope_shht_only (dope_shht_only) essentially he sells slider pots for piles of old machines... i took pics of the slider itself and he found the right one and ordered some... then contacted me back and i bought them. I didn't solder mine in yet because i didn't have time but I am sure they are okay because I visually did a side by side comparison
