Hi guys.
I currently own a 2000 classic and I'm maybe looking to switch to a 2500.
Will the 2500 be able to open what I did with the 2000?
I'm sorry if the question was already posted before but couldn't find a thread about it.
Thanks for your help!

i've done it with a 1000 running jjos and a 2kxl which should be similar. basically the samples transfer fine, yes, but none of the enveloping did, and the midi note numbers must have gotten screwed up cause all my sequences were wrong.
keep in mind this is slightly different than your case, but that is my experience.

But have you actually tried it?

Yes of course, that's part of my day to day work ensuring compatibility between all the different mpc models, in fact many of my sample packs begin life in these older machines as its easier to ensure backwards compatibility this way.

That's because jjosxl runs chromatic pads, so any legacy programs have their pads reordered (36,37,38 etc). So pad A2 (36) gets moved to A1, etc.

Unfortunately JJ didn't provide any way of fixing the associated sequences, hence those sequences still assume pad a1 is note 37.

I now make all sample pack programs using chromatic pads so one program can work in all versions of jjos without the need for it to get messed about.

If the op sticks to akai OS then the import will be fine. I believe jjos free no longer supports snd files, so best to get import under akai OS first.
