Converting JJOS to other MPC formats

You just save each sequence as a 'MID' file in the MPC2500, not a SEQ file - the option is there when you select 'save a sequence' (SEQ or MID). Take that MID file and load it into the MPC4000. That's it as far as exporting the MIDI data.

im just trying to get the mpc4000 to play the event data from my 2500, so the easiest or simplest way to do this is the solution im looking for.

You seem to be over complicating this. Yes you could have the MPC2500 'trigger' the sounds in the MPC4000, but that's completely unnecessary. As already covered, just save each sequence as a standard MID file in your 2500 and then load that MID file into the MPC4000. At that point you will have all your sequences recreated inside the MPC4000 - the 'events' will now play back in your 4000 just as they did in the mpc2500. That's the whole point of creating a standard MIDI file from your sequences, it's a universal format readable by any MIDI sequencer.

At that point you will have to set up all your programs manually in the MPC4000 as the MPC2500 programs will not load in the 4000. That's probably your most reliable option when going from the 2500 to the 4000, unless you want to try out conversion software like aWave studio, I'm not sure how good a job of parameter mapping this does though.

Of course I am, but thank you for helping me to get the solution I need. I genuinely appreciate it. Saving it as a midi sequence, I didn't even know that was possible, or how I would go about doing that. You've made things significantly easier for me, and saved me a lot of time so I can get back to the music making process. You have no idea how much your help has meant to me. Thank you.
