they need to implement a way to layer VSTi and when I install a new plug, let it be initialized when I open the program.like Logic. also when loading a vst let it open up automatically.

I need propert automation on keygroups, just like we have on drum programs. I need this real bad Akai. Some way of jumping to different points of a song would be cool, like if I press 1 I can set it to go to the 32nd bar or pressing 2 goes to bar 128, etc...If this was also included in the automation/global write that would be fantastic. Anything that continues to open up performance possibilities for me is a blessing.

I would love to be able to switch from this universal mixer to the old mixer we had in 1.6 and also be able to export audio as before. This is a lot to ask I know but it had some important benefits.

Also, the 'next sequence' section. Can this be automate-able? Like, whatever buttons I press on that page are recorded so I can record a performance and have it editable too? The song/sequence options need a steroid injection as it is the one section which hasn't had huge development from Akai and holds massive areas of potential.

I don't want the MPC to become a DAW, although audio tracks would be a big help, a dedicated DAW takes a large team of people to build, maintain and improve so I don't see the Ren going this route and I don't need it to as Reaper (and now Studio One v3) take care of that side of things brilliantly. Plus it's incredibly easy to have all of the Ren's 32 outs patched directly into a DAW and have them record on separate tracks for further editing.

Couldn't agree more.

Every time I'm making beats around someone who uses FL and I need to quickly play in something from my Moog or SV-1, or a percussion instrument, i'm a little embarrassed. FL has audio tracks. It's not a DAW like Pro Tools or Logic. It still has audio tracks. Those guys on FL laugh at audio needing to be a midi note, placed. Same for REASON guys.

I've been around since v1.0. The only thing that was on my list then that hasn't been tackled yet is audio tracks. Even a limited amount of audio tracks, or audio tracks with very basic editing functionality would suffice. That would just be.... great. To me, it'd make it undeniable.

Nothing officially said yet, Pete will probably start hinting on Twitter a week or so before the release (like he normally does).

Thanks. They've incorporated a lot of what producers have been requesting so it will be very interesting to see what they next implement. I think it could hint at where MPC Ren 2.0 & the next Ren itself will be headed.

Oh, one suggestion...

The solo button [F4 OR F5 when you're on your main program page...I think]. Is there any chance this could be automatable? Meaning when I press it during recording it is recorded in the sequence?

I know we can put solo on the q link but I've found myself using the F button one more often and getting better performances using that and leaving q links to standard filter/envelope/fx sends duties.
