I know this topic has been probably beat up since the REN came out but I've searched these forums, reviews, & YouTube with no definitive answer. Can I load my MPC 2KXL program files, samples, etc. (CF card & usb ZIP) into the REN and use them accordingly. I have a CF drive installed in my 2KXL and an external usb CF reader that I would like to simply hook up to a REN & transfer the data if possible. If I can do that - even if I have to make tweaks on the sequences, programs, & samples I will definitely cop a REN. My 2KXL is starting to go and rather than cop parts off of MPC STUFF to refresh it I just assume go with a new REN. I know the answer lies on this site, I appreciate your info and 1000 Thank you's in advance...

Covered it in my article from a few years back

I don't think anything has changed since then, I certainly don't think backward compatibility is top of the priority list for the MPC Software these days, especially for the pre-Numark models. So before you get rid of your XL, load up all your projects in the XL and resave all your sequences individually and make sure all your programs are also saved individually as APS doesn't work.

You can also load the MPC Software trial from the Akaipro.com site and test it out yourself

Hey Thanks for the reply and I actually came across PT 1 so I appreciate the link to PT 2 where you covered the 2KXL. Sucks because a better transition between the two models would make it a no brainer for bringing new life to older music. Thanks again...
