Multiple outputs on software instruments, e.g. Kontakt. That would be great.

Would love to be able to have a separate output for previewing samples and VSTi patches.

It would be great for live jamming, if you could flip through the sounds in your headphone before using 'em.

Please allow us to monitor (preview) samples off an assignable output (like my RME's headphone out).

Could be in the settings menu under "monitor / preview output".

*(that and audio tracks pls -hehe :) )

PS AMAZING WORK DEVS. I'm blown away by my mpc studio, and want more studios and Rens in my life!

PPS - Might as well be able to send the metronome to the "monitor / preview" output while we're at it. BAM!

It's incredible...this thread started in May? Some people (of a huge amount of requests in the same sense, for sure, and mine also...but a bit hopeless now and near bad selling it and keep on advancing...) pointed the midi limitations into DAW as OBVIOUS version after version...and I'm flipping out to see that even NOW, there are no multiple outputs from VSTis!! What and hpw they expect we should use the DAW that is not a real flexible powerful DAW into DAWS with which it communicates bad (at least)...and with AKAI curtailing us the basic functionallity as a Instruments and hard integrated in those real DAWs??

It is really a complete madness.

The new version of Logic Pro is just another reason IMO why this thing should never move toward being a DAW. Can't come close to implementing those types of things. And agree, tighter integration with a DAW is something that has been needed since 1.0.

Personally I think it's quiet because they're about to turn this thing on it's head with the Ren 2.0 - that microsoft-based prototype we keep hearing about. Just look at the line of controllers and VIP software they've been pushing. It's the perfect solution for a standalone Ren also capable of using your VSTi's if you wish. Color schemes match too - I could see their entire line fitting in with the same VIP approach. It's the best of both worlds. I'm hoping that's the direction, because if not, I wouldn't even know what to say, other than WOW, what a wasted opportunity to do something epic.

I'm assuming they are getting this new Ren 2.0 ready, which is why it's been quiet.

I think your right! we usually get some type of sneek peek but havent gotten anything. I think the advance keyboard is a indication of what the future holds. Color screens, VIP integration etc. Ill be at NAMM so will see what happens. I have a feeling something new will be announced! I also hear rumors of a new roland groovebox. Honestly if a new MPC gets announced/released i wont buy it unless they have a standalone like a updated MPC 1000 with color screens and better effects. I have no room for a newer big unit, especially if its anything like that prototype from last year. Whatever groovebox i buy next will prolly be maschine 3 or something brand new and amazing.

I am so much with you on this! But as Eylac, I am a bit pessimistic about it. Updates after updates, it looks like the deep Akai roadmap is to make the Ren a DAW by itself (that's why audio tracks are coming).

Renaissance 2 + 2.0 software will make this concept to fruition, mainly a standalone machine working as much as possible as a DAW by itself.

But I still pray -everyday- for Akai to show me wrong ... :-D
