controlling with a midi controller

hi,it is possibly a noob question but forgive my ignorance.
i have a pocket dial midi controller which i ve used with my softwares.
however i m corious if i can control parameters of my akai mpc 1000 (track volume,sample attack,pan,cutoff etc...) directly hooking it to mpc

im curious about the same thing... maybe i try to set it up soon and post my success or failure here .
the doepfer pocket dial has 16 encoders and 4 banks - if it works as i think it could be the perfect extension for the mpc
