Nice! Picked this up a couple of nights ago:) Korg keeps bring the good stuff. Best $9.99 I've spent in a while. Now I can have an Electribe in my pocket. Despite this amazing bargain there was still some whining on some forums about Korg being greedy for releasing the paid iPhone version instead of giving it away. Software development cost money. If they don't want to spend $10 for a high quality app. from a major vendor why not just order the hardware from Ebay or look for one at a pawn shop? Lol

The iphone version looks better than the ipad version. Thanks for posting that video. I'm glad to see the app sounds the same as the hadrware. I used to own the ER-1. It was $399 back when it was new. I saw the same people whining in the reviews about the app costing $10 and not free for anyone who owns the ipad app. Typical bullshit. I'd say the app is well worth the money, even though I havent bought either version yet. I forget offhand if it's audiobus or IAA compatible. But hopefully it will be if not already.

Yep, it has Audiobus! I used it last night to record a track using ielectribe and Animoog as inputs into Audioshare as the output which was then easily copied to Dropbox:)

Awesome! I'm definitely grabbing this. I always wanted this app for the iPhone. I have a 4s, so it'll work.

It also works for the iPad. So I'm glad I never bought the original app, which hasn't been updated in a long time.

With the new app being so much more flexible and better looking, I'm definitely taking advantage of the intro price. iKaossilator is also on sale for $10 until 9/30. But I'm still gonna pass on it.

iKaossilator is really nice as well. Works just like the 'real' thing with some enhancements:) Checkout this video/tutorial:

After seeing that video, I knew the Electribe was gonna be perfect on my iPad Mini 2. I just had a chance to buy it today, and it's a steal at the intro price. It's not bad on my iPhone 4S. Yeah it's small. But nowhere near as small as ReBirth for iPhone. I havent tried syncing the iphone and ipad with WIST yet, or anything elsle like IAA and Audiobus. But I'm about to check it out with Cubasis and test all of that out right now.

As I expected, WIST falls out of sync after a few minutes. In Cubasis, the Electribe is not recognized as an instrument. There's no MIDI. I hope they add it soon. As for Audiobus, it'll play a few bars in Cubasis and then stop. I'm sure these things will get fixed eventually. It's still a great app to run on it's own until then.

AnalogKit

AnalogKit lets you play, share, and build synths and effects in an incredible digital playground.

WARNING: iOS 7 users are encouraged to wait until we post an update fixing a bug that appears to only affect iOS 7.

A music hacker's paradise, Analogkit is designed to be enjoyed by both seasoned synth aficionados and curious cable-wranglers. Whether you're into built-from-scratch effects pedals, synths, vocoders or even DIY games, AnalogKit allows you to build nearly anything you can dream of.

• Piece together controls, effects and signal generators into any gear you can imagine.
• 50+ included core components that can be combined to create endless possibilities of sounds.
• Share your creations with the community via the built-in Swap Meet, or browse, live-preview, and download gear built by other users.
• Compatible with many external audio interfaces so you can run AnalogKit as an effects board for mics, guitars, and other analog instruments.
• Full USB, Bluetooth, and WiFi MIDI support to let you use your favorite external controllers
• Advanced optimization algorithms enable you to run tens of thousands of basic modules in real-time on a modern iPad.
• State of the art anti-aliased oscillators provide the most authentic sound sources digital synthesis can offer.
• All the favorite toys from modular analog synths as well as digit logic components so you can build all the hybrid franken-synths your hardware modular friends could only dream of.

Under the hood, AnalogKit is anything but a toy. The process of putting things together with Analogkit is nothing less than an exploration of digital audio creation that's both revealing and powerful.

Like a supercharged electronics project kit, Analogkit lets you combine and wire things up in any way you want, rather than having to settle for adjusting settings on existing gear. Depending on what components you choose, it can be both a trippy generative app that's easy to lose hours with, or nimble and precise tool for building custom setups quickly.

Analogkit takes full advantage of its digital nature and lets you literally hook anything into anything, chain together as many of a thing as you like, and finally experiment like a kid again ...a kid that happens to have the best audio toy to come to the iPad yet.

I haven't seen anything good on appshopper.com in a while. I'm not sure if developers have been stalling since the release of iOS 9 or if theres any other sites I should be checking. I'm also surprised that Auria Pro hasn't come out yet. I need to check up on what's going on.

AU (Audio Units) are appearing for iOS. I've been waiting for this since the announcement of iOS 9. Blamsoft Zero Reverb has just been released. This reverb is modeled after the reverb on the Zero synth for Reason. It's compatible with Multitrack Studio and the upcoming version of Garageband. I'm waiting for Cubasis to catch up. I asked the guys at Steimberg about AUs in Cubasis at the time iOS 9 was about to be released, and they said they will be working on it. Things are gonna start getting more interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing more VST/AU being ported to iOS, and I hope to see some synths very soon.

Another amazingly deep synth from Virsysn. Incredible amount of power for $10:

Poseidon Synth for iPad

The Ocean of Sound

For all creatures in the ocean of sound - Sonic textures from other worlds, Analog signature sounds, Cut-through-the-mix leads and silkily smooth pads: Poseidon sets a new standard for sounds and ease of use. All of this was made possible through a combination of the familiar, conceptual simplicity of the analog synthesis and our new, F-Domain synthesis technology.

Spectral model oscillator

Select a basic sound model from over hundred delivered with Poseidon. The basic sound model determines the sound characteristic you want to start: taking a artificial model like “Sawtooth” gives you analog style sounds. Use complex models from analyzed samples for earth shaking ambients and evolving pads.

Model parameters

High level controls allow for changing the spectral shape, the harmonicity and balances the level of residual noise and spectral amount of the oscillator model.

F-Domain Filter

The newly developed F-Domain filter allow for drastic changes in the resulting sound spectrum. Five filter types including lowpass/highpass characteristic can be used to shape the sound. They have the usual controls like cutoff but also very unusual ones like a variable slope ranging from 0 dB to 72 dB / Octave and independent controls for resonance and bandwidth! This kind of controls are only possible in the context of our F-Domain synthesis technology. This results in an extremely clear filter sound with breathtaking fast modulation possibilities.??The filter type “Inverse” interprets the sound model as a "Source" and a resonant body "Filter". The cutoff parameter shifts the filterbase - this is the equivalent to making the instrument body smaller or bigger.

Spatializer

This simple control gives your sound a distinctive moving distribution in the stereo panorama. Every atomic sound particle has it´s own path through the space.

Sound browser

The sound browser in Poseidon gives you a fast selection of sounds based on category and timbre.

I'm keeping my eye on Poseidon, though it's very similar to Waldorf Nave. Speaking of Waldorf, I wonder what's taking them so long to update Attack Drums. It's getting 1 star ratings from everyone including myself since it crashes on iOS 9.
