MPC 2kxl stuck loading OS

Hello wise men and maybe women of these forums,

i have following problem i want help with but first the story, it might be boring but might also be important so im trying to give full information for your diagnosis
i have an MPC 2kXL, had it in the late 90s until my external SCSI stopped working, from what i read on here i think i probably blew the fuse turning it on/off or something then i switched to different gear because my local technician told me he cant fix it and i could not be bothered to work with floppys after tasting the luxury of 250mb discs. so i gave it to a friend to maybe try and fix it and use it for his midi setup.
lately i felt the urge to use an MPC so i got it back, it was standing still for years unused since said friend started using a PC shortly thereafter. he cant remember anything bad happening to it
BUT
it wont start, just "insert mpc2000xl disc". so i got the OS on floppy, tried different versions and even bought one from ebay to boot from disc like in the manual. it starts loading with that floppy sound and blinking light but after a couple minutes it stops sound and light and the screen just keeps saying "loading blabla" forever like if its stuck.
has anyone encountered this problem too or even a fix for it? i hope i didnt miss something basic. might be i just didnt use the right terms in the search bar. any help or comdolences are appreciated. thank you

Extract it directly to the disk

Put the disk into the MPC.....Before u turn it on, hold down REC & OVER DUB then turn it own (All at the same time). The MPC should boot off the disk perfect (If the OS is fine and the disk is fine)

Then go into the load screen and load that OS. It will now rewite it the the installed flash and prompt u to press any key to restart when complete. On doing that, the MPC should boot up as normal.

unfortunately i have seen that thread and tried but it doesnt seem to work in this case. i used a 1.2 OS disc from mpcstuff not 1.14 but it still should work this way no?

i have also seen other threads advising to buy ROM chips but im hesitant to spend the money plus shipment to EU because i havent read about it actually solving the problems in those threads. have you got any word on that? what else can be blown?

i am not sure...always a good idea to remove the ram too.

try everything with no ram connected, see what happens then.

i am not sure what the bootroms do or if they would help, since i was able to fix mine with just booting from a disk in the drive.

What o's is on there now can u remember? I just updated mine and it gave me that loading screen for a few minutes then I turned it off and retried it. It worked second time. I was on 1.0 though. When I tried to roll back to 1.14 it kept saying insert disk blah...I read somewhere here that its bc mp isn't recognizing floppy. What tapedeck said just might work if you remove ram newer o's might not see floppy/ide devices
