2000xl stereo outputs & fx board sound quality Vs 8 out card

Hi, could someone tell me what the sound quality of the stereo outs, fx board and the internal digital summing on 2000xl is like, please?

Is it capable of producing a decent stereo mix of pre-master quality? Is the stereo out strong/detailed/balanced enough? Or is the 8 outs board and mixer + fx essential?

Also, does it have a built-in phono pre-amp for sampling?

Same question for the 4000 too.

main outs, stereo, both fine. i tend to prefer the 8-outs. the fx are pretty lo-res.

Thanks. 'Balanced' is obviously a subjective term - but you know what I mean.

I just meant in comparison to the 8 outs - thought the stereo-out might be a little crowded, or the internal summing not great, leading to a lack of definition/clarity etc. compared to taking the 8 outs through a desk to sum?

Hey, I’ve never used the 8-outs, but I’ve heard Marco Polo (the producer) say that he doesn’t use them because of the 2 stereo out’s sound warmer to him.
I’ve also read this in various places… whether it’s true or not.. I’m not sure. Maybe it’s worth some research.
