MIDI SYNCING HELP

SO above is the link which im following .. I did everything this guy explains but at the end my results are

I can play notes and record on my mpc 2500 of whatever plug in my mpk249 is set at .. however when i try to record and play from the mpk249 it doesnt get recorded on the mpc...

my cables are midi out from MPK249 to Midi in 1 on the MPC 2500 and Midi A out from MPC 2500 to MIDI in MPK 249

Also if i go Mode 9(sync) on mpc , on the midi tab active track receive channel is set to ALL and under the SYNC tab Sync in is set at 1 (slave) and sync out is set to A(master) both mode and mmc set to off

What am i doing wrong!! is my mpc just broken?/

you don´t need the cable from the mpc to the mpk, because there are no sounds on the mpk that you can trigger with midi messages.
just leave the one midi cable from the mpk to either the mpc midi in 1 or 2.
then set the track with the program you want to play and see if it makes sound if you jit the keys on the mpk.
if you then record on the mpc it should record the incoming midi notes to that track and then play it back from the mpc.
no syncing or slaving or mmc needed for that basic function.
syncing is only needed if you want to incorporate another device (a synth or else) or a daw that also has its own sequencer.

My guess is the MPK is acting as the MIDI interface for his computer and to control software instruments. Try setting the sync so the MPC is the master, instead of slave. I don't think you want Sync in, the MPC doesn't need any sync info from the MPK. Figure out how to set your MPK to receive.
