Erased Programs from CF card by mistake! Can I recover?

Hi everybody..

I am feeling terrible, I used for the first time save all programs on my mpc 2500 (jj os xl)

It started to erase files so I freaked out and turned off the mpc. When I turned it back on, now I lost all the program files I had in this folder, so I lost months of work.

Has anybody gone through the same and could recover the files? I am using recuva but it says some of the files are not possible to recover.

If someone could help me out, I would really appreciate it!

There's no way to recover those files that I'm aware of. Also keep in mind that if you turn off the power on the MPC while it's either deleting, loading, or saving files, you risk the chance of damaging the card or worse.

Recuva did the job! I could recover the programs !

The filesystem that the MPC 1000/2500 as well as the 2000XL with 1.2 is FAT or FAT32 - If you delete a file, the data on the sectors still remains until those sectors are overwritten.

So with that being said, any FAT / FAT32 recovery software would/should/could recover deleted files just fine. Recuva reads the hidden file allocation table to recover lost files.

*the 2000XL reads FAT12 or FAT16 cards. No FAT32.

@Juke as long as you're trying to recover a FAT file, the things I mentioned should be fine. This will not work if you have your 2000/XL CF set up in multiple partitions though.
