Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Just bought a 2000xl. The floppy has been upgraded to cf. It looks like the cf card reader only takes cf type I cards. Does any one know of a site that I can order some from? I'm having a hard time finding them. I want to be sure it's type I before I put tge order in. The akai memory cards don't work. Tried that. I have a 16mb type I card that works fine.

Thanks!

You should try Sandisk brand CF cards. I use it with MPC-2000XL with non-swappable CF reader (the reader is very picky on which CF card to use) and they work fine.

Thanks! That makes sense. The one I have that works is sandisk.

Try eBay to get some deals. Photographers sell the CF cards by the lot for real cheap.
Kingston CF cards work also.

I found some used 1gb sandisk cards on ebay just now. Thank you! Way cheaper than anywhere else too.

Make sure that you are getting a genuine SanDisk CF card. There are SO MANY fake SanDisk cards on used market.

Is there a way to tell the difference easily?

For some reason, the regular Sandisk Ultra cf cards made my MP act all funny and glitch up. So then I switched to the Sandisk Ultra II cards. I've had no problems at all since.
