It's not exactly official. It's just a leak. I don't see the need for multiple topics either, as this topic already serves it's purpose.

Hmmm. Interesting. It definitely doesnt have that old Akai look – whether it's good or bad, I don't know. I always liked the legacy gray; can't help it. Sort of sad to see it go.
Looks like it's trying to go for a more modern look, but it's 2015 so that's acceptable. I think the buttons and knobs look solid (if there's any gauging by looking at a pic).

Seems it's got a rec in and an output at least. A _lot_ of stuff has been omitted compared to other MPCs; one could guess those features are accessed from the screen.

Hmmm. Definitely interesting.

I'd throw a wild guess and say it works with the Ren software as the guys have seemingly been pretty busy with software development; I suppose doesn't have a massive coding team, and would they be investing so much in coding an entirely new system AND improving the Ren? Doubt it.

Dunno if it's working with the MPC Software. The screen in the pic indicates something new?!
I'm quite sure that it's only a controller but there's a volume knob, a Rec-In... Maybe you can use it as an Audio Interface ( like the Ren ).
Ah shit, let's wait and see
Until Wednesday I'll keep dreaming of a new powerful, small, solid and "touchable" standalone MPC

Now that we have what looks to be a MPC STUDIO and baby Ableton PUSH with audio interface, I don't care about the larger product so much.

If they mate the ren with the push its a good idea if: They borrow Ableton Live's elastic audio tracks, audio to midi, etc etc

.....having said that im waiting on Akai SOFTWARE .....the REN2 should be easy to shop(Advance 49 touch-screen, MPC Ren pads on a Push) and software simple as Ableton Live 9 intergrated with INVISIBLE MPC Element instances.

The UI is almost the same as the actual MPCs, but touchable and with the impc pro graphics but same functionality, as it seems. And it got that zoom and config icons top right.
It seems like the studio sucesor to me.
I hope the Ren sucesor has the screen on top of the pads and still 16 qlinks. And I prefer the clicki transport buttons fron the ren than the rubber ones from the studio althou it is not a game changing thing for me.
This MPC Touch looks cool. I guess still only a controller.
And I hope it comes with the VIP software bundled.
This new model as it is touchable don't need for the F buttons nor the 4 arrows cursor. Just touch the value you want to change and spin the wheel.
The sample selector and the slice selector seem to be pull down menus.
It looks that it would work with the 1.8.2 software version.

mpc touch blows electribe 2 sampler out of the water, except for the sd card slot. there is no audio interface inside, only sample ram. the bigger mpc will be introduced on wednesday. the coolest possible name would be mpc ultra. i guess native instruments cto mate galic is watching this closely.

The Studio looks really sleek. The only downside is navigating start and end points with qlinks. They should have it where one qlink is start and the one below is the end. Of course you get used to flipping back and forth over time but man I was literally about to buy a REN MK1 just to have all 16 knobs available.

Can't wait until Wed. I wonder if tutor, masada, hellfire are actually testing the hardware.

Good Leak Boys. Akai may be right on the money with this. This is going to most likely be standalone with USB for enhancements. I see a MIDI I/O and Audio I/O so standalone is a given. The USB has me intrigued just like you guys. Akai will probably screw it up with proprietary file formats or something to make it harder to use legacy formats. If it controls the MPC Software well, I would love to hear the explanation they give to Ren MK1 users.

It reeks of an Akai Beat Thang if you ask me. Plus I HATE the transport section.
