What does this mean? That some functions are available in standalone and when connected to a computer I get the complete range of features? I find this sentence a little confusing.

Maybe because it wont have access to the software content ie the 20gb the wub ect as they use samples so maybe this is why it says that and maybe why they can't put standalone as they would need the software content and internal hard disk does anyone know if it has internal memory or flash drive access?

Really nice for the "grab & go" situations (having a built in audio interface is great)...but for many of us who have invested in a great home studio environment where portability is not important, the MPC Touch looks like a "side dish," not the center of your studio. I'd like to see more products that you can build your whole studio around; with a focus on better quality (i.e. Apogee converters and built in Waves plugins) - The MPC 4000 was almost there...(that's why I'm hoping Renaissance 2.0 fits that bill).

By the looks of it this is a controller for the MPC Software, it just has it's own GUI on the hardware (as did the Studio/Ren). There's no mention of any internal memory, no incoming disk ports, no mention of any internal storage. PSU - I suspect that's because the screen needs more juice than USB alone can offer.

If this was standalone, they would be singing and dancing about this aspect. GAK calling it a 'sampler' is unfortunate.

At the end of the video it said this is just the begining, im really hopinh this means another announcement is coming or they done put the nail in their coffin this time.

Looks pretty dope in workflow to portability ratio tho, if it can be battery powered i will probably buy one, but i doubt it

The end of the video is interesting, the screen shows "And that is just the beginning". So let's hope Akai has still something up their sleeve.

Sorry, gauz already mentioned this, I was too slow...

And I must admit that the touch screen doesn't seem so bad after all. But the overall size of the MPC seems to be a little small, I had thought it would be larger.

No, not necessarily. The guy on Gearslutz who leaked the Oct 7th date at no point said there were two MPCs being released today. It seems people just assumed this was the case - and as he didn't deny it, everyone now thinks there's two MPCs coming today.
