no fly zone for me. I want my inbuilt audio card. I use it even with my separate audio interface. gives me much more flexibility in my workflow with outboard gear and hardware etc.

the feedback I've seen so far has been more negative side of things, which is sad. I don't think Akai will come with a standalone board anytime soon from the looks of it so, most of y'all shouldn't put you're hopes up.

the real concern should be the software more than anything. if the software ain't up to par the board (not being standalone) as well as the producer will suffer for it. trust me. I'm more excited about anything 1.9 right now. The software is the brains of all of these controllers anyway, since they're not standalone.

This is what my associate Metro uses not MPC. I hooked his sound card to a MPC Ren and thats about it..... That Jumpman beat was an Fl Studio beat.

I need MPC Software v1.9 to have the features of Ableton by now. Maybe then Metro(and the whole 808 Mafia....AND THE WHOLE MUSIC INDUSTRY) will stop looking at us like he did that MPC TOUCH......"I got one question?........WHAT ARE THOSE!!!" - Look. :WTF: lol

As far as I know, no real time operating system based hardware does midi timing properly. Or at least that is the explanation behind why no matter how powerful our pcs are, we don't have it. That explains why devices have come out that utilize the sound card audio latency and retranslating that back to midi. I think innerclock and others do this.

They always gimp their second tier MPCs with a low number of outputs and no tilt screen.

Standing back and trying not to be overly biased... if this is their 'throw it in a backpack and head down the beach' type of MPC... the flagship could be very very nice. I wouldn't even look at Maschine twice if I was in the market for a controller now, and I didn't think I would be saying that a few years ago. :smoker:

Yeah I thought that shortly after I posted. It's like a 1000. MPC stuff needs to get on a tilt mod ASAP, lol.


Still, I'm 6'4", that box will have me walking around looking like lurch if I copped it, haha.

Can someone possibly photo shop what a "renaissance touch" would look like. Maybe we'll hear something before the week is out.
This is my wish list, feel free to add on.

1) 16 touch sensitive Qlinks encoders.

2) virtual analog synthesizer/vintage mode (quick launch buttons) to the right of the data knob.

3) more ins and outs

4) thunderbolt support

Does the MPC Touch need to be plugged into a wall? Seems like it must to power that screen.

Also Coz- thanks for the insight. I'm really hoping that the Touch is the new Studio and the new Ren is on the way (although I wouldn't expect it this year).

for real though people, would you still choose a maschine over this? I dont think so, and akai is probably throwing a party over that. The videos they released alone let us all know who the target audience is.
Hype = expectations, expectations = let downs. Dont fall for it. Plus the way the market seems to be going, the only thing they're willing to "take a risk" on is the touch screen. Nowadays everything seems to be targeted at the "entry level producer" or the ones who have a computer and decide, hey i want to make music. Now thats cool and all but what about the ones who've been doing the dam thing for a while and now and are ready to bring things to another level? The ones who stand out stand alone. I'd pay the price no doubt :nod:

Now we wait... :smoker:
