People want to see this thing properly in action. All those fast cuts just make me wonder if that touchscreen is actually working properly yet.

None of these producers in Akai videos ever doing anything other than talk the talk and press a couple of buttons while looking a bit lost. How about seeing them perform? Finger drumming? Live chopping? Writing something from scratch? If this was a new Fender guitar you can bet Fender's first promo vid would have Zak Wild, Vai or Satriani shredding away on the thing.

Anyway, where's our nice geeky video from Pete and Geoff?

Yep, love 'em. No pretence, just a couple of excited developers showing off their hard work and giving us all the info that we're gagging after. Now grab hold of one of the many rather talented finger drummers out there, and do a nice and simple video of them performing a drum solo on the MPC that utilises all the features. Simple and effective.

I don't understand something, why would they release the touch with the pads on the left side and the screen on the right effectively a left handed version of the mpc-touch, most people are right handed and I've already heard this is the number one reason many users will hold off from this even though they are very interested.
the workflow is king when it comes to these kinds of instruments I just don't understand why you'd wanna shoot yourself in the foot out the gate like this. I certainly want one but can already forsee the issue of me crossing my arms allot, because I'd like to be hitting the pads with my right hand while twisting knobs and controlling other things with my left hand. Has Pete Goodlife said anything about the reasoning behind this decision? There's nothing like having a great product on deck like this and then throwing a wrench in it :(

Actually, I'm right-handed, but now that I think about it, every time I hit pad 1 (if playing a beat that has kick on 1, hat on 2, snare on 3 etc), i use my left hand to hit pad 1. Also, let's say if i used the scroll wheel to tune a sample start point, for example, i'll hit the pad with my left hand and operate the wheel with the right.

Also, if i think of it, it'd be easier for me to repeatedly hit a pad with my left hand and then use the touch screen with my right hand to adjust sample start or whatever instead of doing it the other way around.
