How to remove a ribbon cable?

Hey there,
I want a little help. I got the 2k classic and I want to remove the ribbon cable that is attached to the main board (The one with the cursor, play, rec buttons etc). I'm afraid how to do this, I don't want to break something. So a little help would be very appreciated.

There's 2 side clips on that connector. Pull them outward and pull out the cable by the connector.

I forgot to ask, how can I remove the cables under the plastic jog wheel. I want to flip the board upside down to fix to switches.

I'm not sure how to remove the data wheel ribbon cable. But you can remove the 3 screws that mount it and be able to remove the board to do all your repairs.
