AKAI SUPPORTER SINCE 1992

After 25 years I'm giving up. The MPC brand will soon be nothing more than a plugin for PC based producers. These controllers are nothing but temporary pacifiers for me and others. The ability to add audio tracks has existed for years. It could've been implemented before the Ren's release. The white flag is flying. I predict plugin improvements and little to nothing when it comes to the MPC software going in the direction of standalone. I'M OUT!! P.S. Roger Linn the total destruction is near... I hope I'm wrong smh.

Most of the pc based producers will never understand how I feel.

Times sure have changed, my friend. Computers are the heart of everything these days.

Personally I can't see another standalone happening; it'd have to support 3rd party plugins for people to accept it in today's market, and it'd be old tech in a few years. If it didn't have support for 3rd party plugins, I'd see contemporary producers whine about it. So I understand why they're making hybrids.
IMHO anyone willing to buy a killer standalone should buy a 2nd hand MPC 4000 – now that is a killer machine.

I'm guessing/hoping we're getting audio tracks soon.

with “one motherboard for all users” under the hood, debugging would be super easy for maintenance programmer pete goodliffe. what a great benefit. no more crashes, no more auto-saved sessions, no more panic, hallelujah!

A lot of hits were made with those specs. How many placements do you have using more RAM and USB?

Whether you like his music or not, I'm not sure if you know but you're dissing a veteran producer who's making his living off music unlike many other guys here...and he's made more music than probably anyone else on this forum.
