Using Reaktor Blocks I built a small synth with some LFOs that modulate the pitch and cutoff and got a similar effect pretty quickly. Basically what's happening here is the pitch is falling slowly, so you trigger the note at the highest tone you want and then it falls over time (using triangle waveshape). At the same time the cutoff is being modulated to give it that warble, so the Pitch LFO is also modulating the cutoff LFO frequency (a sawtooth shape). Then the audio is sent through a delay to give it that spacey sound.

These are basic analog synthesis techniques you can hear in scifi movies going back into the 50's so it can be helpful to google space synth sound tutorials to learn what all that jargon means above.

I'm pretty new to the MPC and have been receiving advice on it's use from this forum's members a lot. I'm very handy on a synthesizer though, so hopefully I can help here. There is no point telling people how to replicate "A" sound. IMHO, you need to learn how to make ANY sound. And that only comes with learning a synth inside out. My advice to make any sound you want - start with the amp envelope first. This imo is what defines a sound the most. Is it short and stabby? Is it a long attack string sound? Does it modulate? Think about this first then apply the envelope, which is very easy to do. Then when you start messing with oscillator and filter settings it will fall into place quickly.

Yeah, these are both basically resulting from 'classic' subtractive synthesis techniques. You probably want to watch this:
