Vol pot sp-303

Hello,i'm searching to replace the vol pot on my sp-303, someone has a solution?

From what I recall, someone on http://sp-forums.com had sourced the replacement pots. I'm not sure which sub-forum it was. But the SP-303 and SP-404 use the same part.

I searched on the sp forum but only find someone who told about trying a part but don t tell if it works...

I should be somewhere on the 404 forum. It might have been a link to a mouser or digikey part number. I gotta find it again and bookmark it for when I might need it in the future.

i've never opened an sp-303 but as a general rule, pcb mount pots can be hard to find with the exact same pinout. so if there is space inside you can just use a panel mount pot with the correct value and configuration,and connect it to the pcb with wires.

The only problem with that is there might not be any way to mount the pot.

i have an exact knife and a tube of epoxy putty that says you're wrong.

a panel mount pot just needs a hole, and enough space for the actual pot assembly. you can get some pretty compact pots. i've replaced some pcb mount pots with smaller sized panel mount pots.

but if there isn't space there isn't space, not without doing Frankenstein surgery anyway.

Seems like too much of a hassle when drop-in replacements are readily available. The resale value of your SP would drop significantly as well.

definitely, I wouldn't reccomend that anyone butcher equipment unnecessarily , I might have done some Frankenstein work because I was too lazy to search for an exact part online and had something close in my parts box.

I don't mind doing the research and finding the exact parts for kit that I like, but some stuff I just want working. .....today.
